Людям бывает сложно понять, что для спасения достаточно жертвы Христа. Они считают, что к этой жертве необходимо добавить еще что-то, какие-то дела, соблюдение определенных правил, обрядов.Эта проблема не возникла в наше время, она существовала на протяжении всей истории Церкви и была и в ранних христианских церквях, когда еще апостолы Христа проповедовали Евангелие по всей Римской империи. Одна из таких церквей – церковь в Галатии. В ответ на существующую проблему в этой церкви, Павел написал им послание с целью исправить заблуждения, которые начали появляться в Церкви.
В статье рассматривается отношение Павла к ветхозаветному Закону. С этой целью проведен экзегетический анализ отрывка Гал.4:1-16, в котором Павел раскрывает, с какой целью дан был людям закон в Ветхом Завете. Отрывок рассмотрен по разделам и стихам. У каждого раздела есть конкретная тема: наследники по обетованию (4:1-7), жизнь под властью вещественных начал (4:8-11), призыв Павла относится к нему как к другу, а не как к врагу (12-20). При рассмотрении стихов рассматриваются текстуальные проблемы, существующие в различных манускриптах. Предложены мнения современных теологов, связанные с толкованием некоторых стихов.
